I was listening to the latest episode of the Engadget podcast this morning and the guys mentioned that George Lucas is planning on re-releasing the original Star Wars Trilogy yet again, and this time in 3D. Is this how Hollywood envisions fighting off media piracy? …by producing content that is virtually impossible to duplicate in the living room? Maybe this is one reason why IMax has been gaining popularity over the past several years. Studios feel that it is untouchable by software pirates. I know one thing, even as a big fan of the original Star Wars Trilogy, I would have no interest in going to see them again in 3D. If I were under eighteen, however, it may be a whole different story.
